WarioWare: Snapped! DS Review

WarioWare: Snapped! is the sixth entry in the ever-popular WarioWare series of games that have never failed to deliver thrill-a-second fun and entertainment. At least, until now. Arguably the most anticipated game in the launch of the Nintendo DSi, WarioWare: Snapped! is by far the most disappointing. The game is woefully short, painfully easy and it doesn't even work half the time.

Modojo Review Microgame Start

Instead of offering up microgames by the hundreds, WarioWare: Snapped! barely breaks double-digits with 20. Twenty games that last 5-10 seconds each.

Lost One Star

The different games offer little variety, and because the DSi camera isn't as advanced as Nintendo thinks it is, you can complete them by waving your head and hands around until you hear the "success" chime.

Lost One Star

All of this is moot unless the DSi camera can properly register your head and hands. Prepare for some frustration as the contrast and lighting requires use of a blue screen to even start the game.

Lost One Star

If there's any glimmer of hope, it is that when the camera works, it's a neat trick. Every time you complete a series of five microgames, you'll be treated to a fun slideshow showing you how ridiculous you look while playing the game. But there's not even a way to save those cool images, and that doesn't justify spending $5.

Lost One Star

While we're huge fans of the series, WarioWare: Snapped! is a novel tech demo that shows just how far Nintendo needs to go to create a compelling DSi experience.

What's Hot: Our tempers after seeing how badly Nintendo messed up this entry in an otherwise great franchise.
