Snoticles iPad Review
It's only fitting that I first experienced Adult Swim's Snoticles while sitting at the doctor's office, messing with both real and virtual phlegm.
What? Too graphic?
This latest release, universal for both iPhone and iPad, is a cross between Peggle and Bust-a-Move, where each puzzle contains a set number of evil Blots to destroy.
To do this, you make use of four unique Snoticles, each with its own special attack. Zit, for example, chucks rocks. Dread, meanwhile, tosses backpack bombs. Spark hurls fireballs that ricochet off surfaces, and finally, Snot literally attacks enemies with boogers, when it doesn't eat them, of course.
The characters are gross. The actual game play, on the other hand, is golden. You only receive so much ammunition per character, and once it runs out, you must restart that stage from the beginning. What ensues is slow paced fun, as you strategize the best ways to annihilate the Blots.
As with most puzzle games, there's a learning curve. It'll probably take a little while to get the hang of the the force behind each character's throws, as you adjust the on-screen slider.
Adult Swim, thankfully, keeps things interesting with colorful cartoon style backgrounds that we've come to expect from its games. Not sure if the oddly adorable Snoticles will receive their own toy line, but hey, anything's possible.
On that note, be sure to "cough up" $0.99 and prepare to enjoy one of the App Store's coolest games. As for me, time for some meds.
Requirements: Compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation) and iPad. Requires iOS 4.0 or later.
