Frogger Mobile Review

All the classic fun of the arcade game is intact.
Not much new here; no sign of any sort of online scoreboard.
Good ol' Frogger. There isn't any place now where Konami's arcade hero hasn't shown up, either in his classic arcade venture or in some new platforming game featuring him as a cartoon hero. Me, I prefer the older version, if only to avoid getting skooshed by a car or drowning in the river trying to pick up a lady frog. And that's why I like the cell phone version of Froogger so much, it sticks to the basics, stands by them, and they manage to work.
The game, like the original arcade game, has you directing a frog through different hazards from the bottom of the screen to the top, avoiding cars, snakes, gators, and falling in the water while also picking up lady friends and eating flies for bonus points. The clock is working against you, so you have to move rather quickly. Fortunately, Konami's packed this game with exceptional control so you have quickness on your side.
The game also looks like its classic self, with represented level quality and colorful design coming through in spades. The sound is also simplistically intact, complete with the sound of your frog biting the dust. I would've liked to have seen interactive scoreboards or maybe even some new level challenges, but who's to complain? Frogger gives you the option to cross the street like it always has, and as long as it comes at least halfway in trying to entertain me, I'm all for it.
