What a gorgeous racer for the N-Gage... We have all the details on this upcoming game.
There's a handful of futuristic racers on the market that are currently catching loads of attention. Any given game in Nintendo's F-Zero series is sure to turn a few heads, especially if the superb GameCube edition is anywhere in the vicinity. And who could forget Wipeout, currently enjoying a rebirth on the PSP with Wipeout Pure? But just because some definitive games are already on the market doesn't mean that there's no room for the competition. Far from it. In fact, Ideaworks 3D may be creeping up on the genre with the most unique entry yet, and provide the N-Gage with another winning game in the process.
System Rush has been in development for some time now, and videos and screenshots seem to progressively get better each time we get a closer glimpse at the game. The plot revolves around hackers, who take advantage of a large multinational syndicate that does its business online. In the game, you take control of a hacker who's developed a sweet new kind of software that can bring everything down. But, before you can utilize it, it's snagged from right underneath you by "black hat" hackers, rogues who have somehow also framed you with the syndicate. So now it's literally a race against time as you must stop the hackers in a series of races, while at the same time gathering what you need to bring down the entire conglomerate.
System Rush's first noticeable feature would have to be its graphics. Ideaworks 3D is putting the N-Gage to work, producing an impressive 3-D engine that lets the tracks fly by in real time, complete with neat graphical tricks and a steady frame rate that will keep racing fans drooling. But that's just the tip of the digital iceberg, as the game will have depth to back up its looks. There's over 50 races to engage in here, including some face-offs with gang leaders and kingpin bosses that will test your finest racing skills as you compete for the top slot of power. You'll be able to pick up new vehicles and boosters throughout, and gain an advantage by performing some tricks on the side.
Sounds like fun thus far, doesn't it? Well, keep in mind I just described the single player experience. The multiplayer gaming will offer only the finest that Bluetooth has to offer, allowing two players to take on each other in wireless play. If that's not enough, the game will fully support the N-Gage Arena, featuring such challenges as Shadow Racing, global ranking, and more. And there's also a player profile you can tweak to perfection, as well as limited edition vehicles to unlock during your cybertronic journey.
System Rush is shaping up to be a grandeur entry in the N-Gage game library, and the company should be showing off a near-final version of the game next month at E3. We'll have a full review for you shortly, along with the typical "oohs" and "aahs" that come from a top-caliber racing game.
