Curiosity: What's Inside The Cube- A Remarkable First Day

It's still a cube made up of lots of little cubes, and people are still tapping on them despite not really knowing why they should, but what is interesting about today's launch of Curiosity is how much interest it's garnered amongst mobile gamers.

Here are some mind-boggling facts and statistics from day one, pulled directly from the app, as well as comments made by Peter Molyneux himself throughout the day. All figures are correct at the time of publishing.

- Molyneux, who woke up this morning at an Israeli convention to discover Apple had released Curiosity two days ahead of schedule, revealed that 24 million cubes were destroyed in just the first four hours of the game being made available.

- A total of 50,567,191 cubes have been destroyed by 38,662 users since the game launched this morning. That's an average of just over 1,300 taps per person.

- Molyneux announced that 625 people have purchased the one million coin chisel, with two billion coins being spent in total.

- Cubes are currently being destroyed at a rate of 74,397 per second. This amounts to each of the 4,229 current users clearing an average of 17.6 cubes each second.

- At the current rate of clearance the entire cube will be destroyed, and the secret at the center revealed to one person, in approximately 11 days.
