iPhone App Store game sales spotlight. Follow all the ups & downs...
Apple's iPhone App Store may now be over one month old, but the deck's sales stats still show no sign of settling down. Last week two Breakout-inspired titles shook up the top 10 by claiming the top two slots. This week, neither title even managed to chart. Is this an indication that Apple's rankings are unreliable, or did both games truly just burn brightly for a very short period of time? Without hard numbers to go along with Apple's top 100 rankings, it's hard to say.
This week, Apple once again reclaimed the top spot. Many other top 10 mainstays also resumed their previous positions from two weeks ago. Handmark's GTS World Racing is the only major top 10 shake-up, debuting at #5:

Elsewhere in the top 100, the week's big story has to be the inexplicable rise of previously-released titles. Games like Chimps Ahoy, CubicMan Deluxe, and Cubes, none of which charted the week previous, are occupying top-tier rankings. In some cases, the sales increase can be attributed to a price drop. In others, no obvious explanation is evident.
Notable new releases this week include the aforementioned GTS World Racing, Frogger from Konami, ColorTilt from IMAK Creations, and Subway Shuffle from Aubrey's Puzzles. The full rankings:
