Dungeon Explorer Goes Gold for the DS and PSP

"Why'd you take that potion? You had full health."
The game will officially ship on February 12 and, interestingly enough, will be published by Hudson but distributed by Konami Digital Entetainment. Despite the shared release date however, they're not two versions of the same game; in fact, the DS version is actually a sequel of sorts to the PSP one, taking places centuries after the events of that version.
Both utilize a unique fighting arts system that will give players over 150 unique styles (60 in the DS version) to choose from, including the PSP exclusive Big Bang Arts that we covered earlier in the month.
Like any good dungeon crawler, hundreds of items can be found in your quest to rid the land of evil. All of these will be upgradable, so if you're a fashion die-hard or you've just gotten really attached to a certain set of armor then by all means, keep using it.
The DS game will feature 3 different character races and classes to make up for its smaller set of fighting arts and both games will prominantly feature online multiplayer modes that will let players journey together, and hopefully, share items as well.
Like the beat-em-up genre, I've always felt that these hack-and-slash games are best suited to a multiplayer environment anyway, so it's good that Hudson's decided to put a lot of their focus there.
If you'd rather see the game for yourself, a trailer has been released (below) that shows off the game's single and multiplayer elements along with many of the features we've just described for you.
