Neutron Powers Bust-A-Move Multiplayer

No, not the boy genius.
We mentioned last week that Bust-A-Move: Mobile Mania would feature online play. Well, it turns out that Taito has licensed Exit Games' Neutron technology to power the community features of its new puzzle game, Bust-A-Move: Mobile Mania, as well as a number of other games as part of a new multi-title agreement.
"Bust-A-Move: Mobile Mania is a highly competitive game and the integration of community features and multiplayer functionality will be a key component of the overall game experience," states Keiji Fujita, executive producer of Bust-A-Move: Mobile Mania. "We've been impressed with the performance of the Neutron platform and feel this is the next in a series of titles that will bring social mobile gaming to mainstream audiences around the world."
"Neutron has proven itself as a leading edge solution for some of the world's largest carrier and publisher brands," said Tom Sperry, CEO of Exit Games USA. "The opportunity to work with Taito on the BREW version of Bust-A-Move: Mobile Mania is a testament to a maturing marketplace and direct response to the growing consumer demand for a next-generation social gaming experience on handheld devices."
I have to admit, I don't know a whole lot about this Neutron technology, but if Taito has enough faith in it that they're licensing it over developing their own platform then maybe it's something worth looking into -- assuming they're not just being lazy anyway.
