Shockwave Minis Launch on Verizon Wireless

A new category of mobile games

Shockwave.com has launched a new category of mobile games called Shockwave Minis, built using Adobe Flash Lite and available exclusively on Verizon Wireless.

Consumers can gain access to all 30 games for a monthly subscription fee of $3.49, or through downloadable packs of 3, 5 or 10 at prices starting as low as $3.99. Titles available through this service inlcude SpongeBob SquarePants and MTV's Pimp My Ride; new games will be added to the service every month.

"Shockwave Minis bring a new category of impulsive and easy to play mobile games to the mass market consumer just as Shockwave.com and AddictingGames.com have done with online casual games," said Dave Williams, GM of Shockwave.com. "Teaming with Verizon Wireless give us the unique opportunity to work with a leader to jointly increase mobile game penetration in the United States."

Shockwave Minis mark the first multi-game mobile subscription service and the first U.S. gaming service to take advantage of Adobe's Flash Lite technology. This new mobile implementation of the Flash technology has the potential to lower cost and increase speed to market of mobile entertainment content.
