Update: Oblivion on the PSP

EBGames reveals further confirmation

An unconfirmed report released back in April stated that developers Bethesda had versions of its successful Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion RPG under development for the PlayStation 3 and PSP; the title having initially been released on the Xbox360 and PC.

The company eventually issued a statement saying that it currently had no plans to port Oblivion onto any other platforms, but didn't necessarily deny the rumor outright.

Well now a recent update to the game listings at online video game retailer EBGames.com has revealed what could be further truth to this still unconfirmed report. A PS3 version of Oblivion is listed on the website here, while a PSP version can be seen here.

The PS3 game sports a release date of November 17, meaning it would definitely be within the launch window of the release of Sony's new console. The PSP game, however, would not be seen until later in the new year, sometime in March.

While these listings are definite indications that the two games probably do exist, Bethesda has still not announced any official details or even confirmed development for any such ports of Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion. Stay tuned for more information.
