PSP owners finally get the MGS game they've wanted
At its press conference held yesterday, Konami unveiled the first tactical espionage Metal Gear game for the PSP. Titled Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops (MPO), you'll find no cards in this game, as it'll be the first true transition of the popular console franchise onto a portable system.
Said to take place after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater and before the very first Metal Gear game, the story will apparently reveal a lot of key plot points, such as: how did Big Boss establish Outer Heaven? Why did he lure Solid Snake into fighting him? How could the man who once saved the world threaten its very survival?
All these questions -- and many more -- will soon be answered in MPO. In order to take command of MPO's battlefield, Big Boss must recruit and fight alongside his comrades: Major Zero, Paramdeic, and Signit. You can expect to see an assortment of new allies join the fight, as well as some enemies, too.
Furthermore, the game's new design approach uses the full potential of the PSP's wireless LAN connectivity for online play.
Here's hoping we see it on the E3 showfloor today or throughout the remainder of the week. Stay tuned for further developments.
