Metroid Prime: Hunters Goes Wi-Fi

2006 isn't that far away, right?
Just a few days ago, Nintendo issued an announcement detailing that the much anticipated DS title, Metroid Prime: Hunters, would be delayed and received a vague 1Q 2006 ship date as opposed to its formerly stated fall 2005 release. We speculated that the decision may have been made in an attempt to implement Wi-Fi internet support for the game, and today we have received a confirmation from Nintendo that Samus Aran's expedition on the DS will in fact have access to the company's online gaming service, Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.
This is somewhat of a surprise, however, as one of the game's developers recently commented on the possibility of online play saying, "We could have made this game online, but Nintendo's vision of online play is different from that of other companies". Whether or not the delay was made solely on account of adding the wireless internet support is unknown, however the extra wait should surely be something that fans will be able to handle considering this new addition.
