Metroid Prime: Hunters Delayed

A holiday title it is no more

Nintendo of America released an official announcement today detailing that one of its forthcoming DS titles, Metroid Prime: Hunters, has been delayed, and now carries a vague 1Q 2006 ship date.

Originally scheduled for release sometime this fall, the game was highly proclaimed as one of the killer app titles for the Nintendo DS this holiday season. Being as it was one of the first titles announced to be in development for the handheld, it is somewhat questionable as to why the game would need such a lengthy development time.

With current speculation circulating about the title's multiplayer features, it is rumored that perhaps the company has pushed the game back in a move to incorporate Wi-Fi internet support.

We'll have more news on the delay of Metroid Prime: Hunters for the Nintendo DS as it surfaces.
