More advanced than the previous war

Nintendo announced today that Advance Wars: Dual Strike is now shipping nationwide for the Nintendo DS. First seen on the Game Boy Advance, the series continues on Nintendo's new handheld and promises to deliver a host of new features that will sure to please fans of the popular turn-based strategy games.

The Black Hole Army is once again rising up to attack the nations of Wars World, and it's up to the armies of Orange Star, Blue Moon, Yellow Comet, and Green Earth to join forces and put a stop this menace once and for all.

During play, the system's top screen can used for quick reference on battle intel while still maintaining a visual of the battle proceedings on the bottom screen. Switching out of this setup, players can have the battle take place across both screens, with a fleet of fighters taking to the skies whilst troops traverse the fields below.

The title features three different gameplay modes, including the standard Campaign mode, a Combat mode for fast-paced action, and a Vs. mode containing an assortment of battle maps both new and old. Up to eight people can play wirelessly by using a single game card.

Advance Wars: Dual Strike for the Nintendo DS is rated "E" for Everyone and is available at a suggested retail price of $34.99.
