Konami hits us with a strategy RPG
Konami announced earlier today that they are currently working on a strategy RPG for the Sony PSP, titled Twelve: Sengoku Fuushinden. Set during the Sengoku era in Japan, the game will allow players to choose one of twelve different characters to act as the hero of the story.
Twelve will take players across the entire country of Japan shrouded in fantasy, with a vast array of mythological beings and creatures turning up around every corner. In traditional SRPG manner, gameplay will consist of back and forth transitions between story-based dialogue and combat.
The game will don an anime-style visual presentation, with sprites used for characters and backgrounds structured in 3D. Characters will advance across the fields in a grid-like fashion, with all actions decided in a turn-based manner.
Furthermore to this, players will be able to tinker with a special weapon upgrade system, attaching various orbs to weapons in order to enhance their strength and effectiveness.
Twelve: Sengoku Fuushinden for the PSP is scheduled for a release in Japan sometime this Summer. A North American version has currently not been announced.
