Finally, a ninja title to take on the go...
Originally announced to be in development for the Sony PSP back in September 2004, From Software has finally revealed specific information on the title to Japanese magazine Famitsu. Officially titled Tenchu: Shinobi Taizen, the 8th game in the series will once again showcase the adventures of Ayane and Rikumaru, two deadly ninja assassins.
The events of the story will take place following the finale of Tenchu: Fatal Shadows, released earlier in February for the Sony Playstation 2. The title has been reported to share obvious similarities to previous Tenchu games, with the stealth/action gameplay of the console versions modified for a portable experience.
The company plans on including wireless multi-player modes, both cooperative and competitive, along with the revived ability to allow players to create their own missions. Once properly saved to a Memory Stick, player created missions can also be exchanged between friends.
Tenchu: Shinobi Taizen for the Sony PSP is currently scheduled for a July 28 release in Japan. Plans for North American distribution have not yet been outlined.
