PSP Hacked for Web Browsing

With a little help of Wipeout Pure, you can serf the web on the PSP

It didn't take long for the http://www.modojo.com/articles/columns/3/>gics of the world to hack into the newly released PSP. Two days after Sony's North American release, several clever gamers have cajoled the PSP into accessing websites and the like.

According to various sources, the PSP can now be accessed as a web browser via Sony's launch game, http://www.modojo.com/articles/reviews/psp/wipeout_pure/>Wipeout Pure. Apparently, Wipeout Pure comes with a web browser for downloading game updates; while this browser is designed only for this purpose, there are certain ways to make it operate as a normal web browser.

The PSP will display a keyboard and its buttons can function as a navigator; though no "mouse" cursor is displayed, the D-pad can navigate the links, "X" acts as the "enter/return" key, while other buttons are used to refresh, etc.

No doubt, future PSP hacks will be researched and exploited in the coming months. Thanks to hackaday.com for the information.
