Wraithborne Cheats And Tips

Alpha Dog Games' grisly combat crawler Wraithborne is out now for iPhones and iPads and we've certainly had our fair share of its meaty brawling. We published our review of the game at the end of last week, now here's our guide to getting ahead of the game.

How do I block an attack in Wraithborne?

If you're coming under heavy fire in the game, hold down the shield icon so that you can take a battering while you think about your exit strategy. If you can find a way out of the melee range to back off, then take on the enemies one-by-one, then do so.

What are the differences between the two attack types?

You have a light attack and a heavy attack, which can be combined for more deadly maneuvers. The light attack doesn't do much damage but it is fast, whereas the heavy attack is slower, does more damage, but leaves you more exposed for a counter-attack.

Why can't I reach a new area?

If you're ever blocked from making progress in an area, keep an eye out for objects that are glowing light blue. Nearby, there'll be a blue circle of light. Stand in this, and hold down your shield icon until the meter's fully charged. The obstacle will disappear shortly afterwards.

How do I equip a different rune?

Before starting a game, you have the option to change your loadout. You can remove active runes from the bottom left of the screen and replace them with the runes listed in the main rune area. Note that you'll need to have unlocked a rune first before you can use it.

How do I access new runes?

You'll receive new runes as you progress through the story. In order to activate them and add them to your repertoire, you'll first need to stand in the shimmering blue circle and hold down the shield icon until the meter has fully charged up.

How do I upgrade my runes?

As you chop away at enemies on the battlefield, you'll often be rewarded with purple gems that drop from their corpses. Always grab these as they will help you upgrade the power of your runes. You should also smash any objects and vases that you see lying around as these often contain a handful of these valuable gems.
