Free iPhone And iPad Game Of The Day: Blueprint 3D
With thousands of iOS games released on a yearly basis and available storage at a premium, it takes a special iPhone and iPad title to remain on our devices for a considerable length of time. Perfect example: Blueprint 3D. FDG Entertainment's outstanding puzzle game released to little fanfare in 2011, but managed to earn its rightful place in the spotlight when the developer made it free-to-play, but you better download it now, as the sale ends tomorrow.
One of the few games on Modojo to receive a perfect five-out-of-five, we heaped praise upon this title, calling it "one of the most creative and thoroughly entertaining apps we've had the pleasure of experiencing" in our review. Spend just a couple minutes with this charming gem and you'll see why.
In it, the creators present you with a jumbled blueprint, a mass of 3D lines and distorted shapes. Your task is to manipulate the pieces in such a way to create an image. The developers split these objects into 13 unique themes that cover such categories as Architecture, Electronics, Animals and Instruments, for well over 300 puzzles.
What's especially cool is the sense of wonder and excitement the player experiences when he or she transforms what appears to be one huge mess into a telephone, golf cart or panda bear. The touch screen controls work exceptionally well, and the relaxing music adds to the game's appeal.
There's no getting around it. Blueprint 3D is one of the finest games on the App Store, and easily cracks the top 10 best puzzlers for iPhone and iPad. We gladly paid for it, and now that the game is free, we hope thousands of soon-to-be-happy iOS users discover how great FDG's creation is.
