iOS And Android Games Of The Week: February 8, 2013
Believe it or not, this week didn't produce a lot of quality games for iOS and Android. Titles we expected big things from came up woefully short, while others were merely good. At least on the positive side, that made picking the top two apps easier than expected. On that note, feel free to party like an oversized monster and get chummy with Homer Simpson. You earned it.
iOS: Roar Rampage [Download]
If you crave wanton destruction, look no further than FDG Entertainment's Roar Rampage. In it, you take control of a humongous creature with an appetite for mayhem. Lay waste to buildings, vehicles and enemies using the beast's giant fist, plowing through 45 levels featuring 16-bit style graphics. Now add more than 20 weapons and power-ups, as well as an Endless Mode with 100 plus missions, and you'll receive plenty of value for $0.99.
Apple fans had the luxury of enjoying EA's The Simpsons: Tapped Out for almost a year, doing their best to rebuild Springfield while interacting with numerous characters from the award-winning TV series. Android gamers demanded it, and the publisher finally delivered with a port that, while somewhat limited, still delivers a humorous time-wasting experience. It'll take a long time (or Donuts) to create the city of your dreams, but witty dialogue from the show's writers and a seemingly endless number of quests will keep you busy for a long time.
