Krashlander Cheats And Tips

Krashlander is out now on the App Store for those who really fancy themselves a cut above the average gamer. We found it a little hard to love in our review earlier today, although it's clear that its a game of depth for those with the patience to master it.

If your head's really in a spin, we've put together some useful hints and tips to get you on your way.

- While you're learning the very basics of adjusting your posture, try to react to upcoming changes in the landscape rather than anticipating them. Make very light adjustments to your posture in order to align your rider with the terrain ahead.

- It's not immediately apparent from Krashlander's short tutorial, but postures aren't an all-or-nothing proposition. You can very gently move the stick towards a new position, so that you only very slightly change the posture of the rider. Experiment with very gentle gestures while you're learning the game.

- You need to forget a lot of mobile gaming traditions to master Krashlander's controls. First and foremost, you need to adjust to the idea that you are not controlling your skis, you are controlling the posture of the rider.

- First things first, master navigating the landscape of each level, rather than how you're going to perfectly nail three stars by taking the robots out in one clean swoop! It's tricky enough just reaching the right landing spot, so learn how much strength you need to put into each posture to make a clean ride through the level.

- If you need to build up speed for a big jump ahead, try crouching down to minimize air resistance and get a good run-up.

- If your poor rider is banging his head on the scenery, try leaning back as you approach the tunnel. As always, choose the least possible posture change that will get you through cleanly so that you're ready to readjust to the next challenge without messing up your balance.

- You should consider the signs that tell you when to jump as warnings rather than instructions. If you're presented with a huge chasm to cross, don't jump until the very last minute - and make sure you've got plenty of speed behind you too.

- If a level is really driving you over the edge, you'll be offered the chance to skip it entirely after a certain number of attempts. Try another level, and when your skills have improved you can always return to a level you previously found impossible!

- Just because you've cleared a level, that doesn't mean you've mastered every lesson it has to offer. Levels we found almost impossible at first became much easier when we returned after completing a few more challenges. Practice on the easier slopes if you're struggling to make progress.

- To get a perfect rating on a level, you're not just going to have to take out every robot, you're going to have to destroy them all with a single attempt. Good luck!
