Star Wars Pinball: Everything We Know
Sometime this February, Zen Studios will take us to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars Pinball, a sweet-looking collaboration with LucasArts. Although the developer released a trailer (more of a teaser, really), we've yet to see the game in action. But we know of multiple characters and features, thanks to details from a recent press release a whole mess of screens. That said, here's everything we know about Star Wars Pinball.
-Launching this February for iOS and Android. Will also be available as downloadable content for the following games: Pinball FX 2 (Xbox Live Arcade, Windows 8), Zen Pinball 2 (PS3 and Vita via PlayStation Network, cross-buy compatible), Zen Pinball 2 (Mac App Store) and Zen Pinball (App Store, Google Play).
-Will initially ship with three tables inspired by Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, Boba Fett and Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
-Confirmed characters include Luke Skywalker, Boba Fett, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano.
-Other characters displayed across the tables include Jabba the Hutt, the Probe Droid, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, Yoda, Bossk, Dengar, Han Solo in Carbonite, Han Solo, C-3PO, R2-D2, other astromech droids, Princess Leia, Darth Maul and Chewbacca.
-Known vehicles include TIE Fighters, a Star Destroyer, Slave 1, a Gunship and an X-Wing. It remains to be seen whether the player will interact with some, or if they're purely decorative.
-Characters will interact with each other. On The Empire Strikes Back table, Darth Vader duels with Luke Skywalker, while on the Boba Fett table, the bounty hunter wrestles with the Sarlacc. With Clone Wars, Anakin Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano fight Battle Droids.
-On The Empire Strikes Back table, making the jump to light speed is involved in some fashion.
-Players can post high scores to global leaderboards.
-There will be in-game friend challenges.
-Competition wise, the game comes with local hot seat and online multiplayer.
-With the Empire table, players will notice Cloud City in the top left corner.
