Mario Tennis
The following year, Nintendo again asked Camelot Software if they could work their magic again, this time for a Mario-themed tennis title. Seeing as
Mario Golf had proven to be quite the success, why change the formula?
Mario Tennis featured the same character building RPG elements that were to be found in the Golf title. The were still many play modes, including exhibition, versus and tournament, where you work your way up the rankings to finally face off against Mario himself.
There were also a selection of minigames to play, with more becoming unlockable via the N64 transfer pak. They included the likes of Mario Boo Blast, which consisted of firing shots at boo. In Luigi's Shooting Star you have a star fired at you like a ball fired from a serving machine, you have to return it or not let it bounce twice. Each Mario universe character has their own minigame with things to unlock. The N64 transfer pack unlockables went both ways, with some features in the N64 version being unlocked by your progress in the Game Boy version.
