Mario's Picross

Mario's Picross is a little puzzle game made by a company named Jupiter for Nintendo. Given a touch of Mario to enhance appeal, he appeared to be equipped with a little hammer and chisel, but there was little physical smashing of blocks in this game. The game of picross is kinda how it sounds, a "picture crossword". You have clues in the form of numbers running along the top and side of the grid. These numbers relate to how many of the squares of the grid are colored in. You have to deduce which of these are colored and which aren't by using logic. Something I appeared to lack considerably when I attempted to play it.

There was a 30 minute time limit to each level, which seems to say to me that this was no quick-fix puzzle blast and required a large amount of brainwork. You couldn't just color in blocks whenever you wanted, as you'd get some of your precious time knocked off the clock. Whilst not as popular as other puzzle games due to its insane difficulty, the game sold fairly well and introduced many people to a new form of puzzle.
