Think the GBA is dead? Think again. We take a look at 11 stylish GBA titles, all due out in 2006. Get that rumble pak out of your DS's GBA slot!
...Continued From Page 2 The following may or may not actually hit North American GBAs, but they all damn well should. Keep your fingers crossed.
Final Fantasy V & Final Fantasy VI
Last fall Square announced that Final Fantasy IV, V, and IV would all receive GBA ports, with updated presentations and gameplay. IV's release came quickly in December, but very little has been said since about the status of V and VI. No US or Japanese release date has been given, nor has any media of the remakes ever been revealed. We remain cautiously optimistic that somewhere in Square Enix's dungeon the ports are being worked on, however.
Polarium GBA
Ok, maybe we don't want this one quite as badly as the Final Fantasy remakes, but still, more puzzle games can never be a bad thing. Polarium was originally released on the DS to little fanfare, but Nintendo of Japan unabashedly announced and subsequently released a GBA version, which removed the original's challenge mode, but made up for it by including 365 new puzzles - more than triple the number the original contained.
Bit Generations series
Known by a variety of names (Bit Generations, Digiluxe, Digistylish), the collection of games are a series of abstract activities focused around light and sound, all with their own unique, memorable style. ...that's basically all we know. A brief trailer for the minigames was shown off at E3 2005, but Nintendo revealed nothing else. The games then resurfaced a couple months ago, when the ESRB revealed it had given all the games an "E" rating. Maybe Nintendo is intending to use the games to send the GBA out with a bang?
